Class Rules
Be adults - Be on time, bring your materials, hand in assignments on time
- Also, if you need to step outside (bathroom, water, take a phone call), no problem. You don't need to ask. Just step out quietly.
Be respectful
- If someone asks a question, it is respectful to answer. Staring is rude. Silence is rude.
- Someone else is talking? You are LISTENING.
Be brave
Speak.
- The only way you will improve is by making mistakes. No mistakes? No improvement.
- You will get a C or lower in this class if you don't speak.
Be curious
Ask questions. Use this: "Do you mean....?" when you don't understand something.
Grades -
50% Native Speaker
13% Attendance
37% Korean teacher portion
Book - you can buy it week 2 in the Copy Center in the Student Building
A word about
Plagiarism:
From the Native
English Speaking Professor:
Definitions: It is saying that someone else's work is
yours. It is cheating. Plagiarism is not accepted.
This is plagiarism:
1. You find someone else's words and then you
put your name on it and hand it in. You
did not do the work.
2. Giving a presentation of someone else’s work
or research.
This is *NOT*
Plagiarism:
1. Using someone else's words to teach you.
2. Research.
3. Quoting someone and giving them credit.
You will receive a zero if you plagiarize
someone else’s work.
